Hello fellow reader! Before I start, like all my other websites, this website is full of spoilers and only for school reasons, but if you are familiar with my websites, you know that :-)
Anyways, this friendly and heart-warming book is about Ivan, an easy-going gorilla. Living at the Exit 8 Big Top Mall and Video Arcade for roughly 9,855 days (27 years), he is used to humans watching him through the glass walls of his domain. He rarely misses his life in the jungle where his father, a mighty silverback, lived and protected the troop.
Ivan is a mighty silverback, taken away from his family when he was young. He likes watching romance movies and western films. Ivan also enjoyed painting objects in his dormain: bananas, bugs, Not-Tag (a stuffed gorilla toy), but when it came to using his imagination, he couldn't think of much, so he only drew what he saw. His only two friends are Stella (an old, wise elephant) and Bob (a small, wild dog, who usually slept on Ivan's tummy).
Around the middle of the book, a baby elephant called Ruby comes and gives Ivan a glimse of her life in the wild and he starts remembering the old days with the troop. Days after, Ivan thought of ways to use his art for the better, not just money. After lots of tries, Ivan finally managed to spell "HOME" and Julia talked to her father, Mack, a worker at the Mall, about the situation. In the end, Ruby and Ivan were brought to the local zoo, where they lived happily.
And that my friends, was the ending of this fascinating book, The One and Only Ivan.
